Houston County lake Is located approx. 10 miles Northwest of Crockett in Houston County
The lake was impounded (dammed) in 1966
The lake is fed primarily by Little Elkhart Creek,  numerous small creeks as well as many active springs.
It is a constant level lake with minimal fluctuations. Houston County Lake will be near normal levels when Lewisville,
Livingston and most other lakes are down 8-9'
Water is described as clear to slightly stained.
Less than 1/2 of the lake is useable for recreational purposes.
Surface area: 1,330 acres-1523 acres depending on source.
